Default Ram Melt Problem

Alright i guess u could call me a newb at computer fixing but i put a 128 meg ram stick in my computer and i hooked it all back up and when turned it on i smelt something burning so i shout off the power supply it was on for about ten soceonds and in that time it blackened a spot on the ram slot and appears to have burnt a hole in it and maybe the motherboard. The computer seems to run normally except i have no video. is this fixible?

I've seen a similar problem happen when someone put a RAM stick in incorrectly. The mobo was fine, just ruined that socket...

In your case, I'm not sure what to say. Are you using the same socket? Are you using onboard video?

When you say you have no video, does that mean that your screen is blank?
