Default RAM issues!!

I was talking to a guy that works in a computer store about RAM (i was looking to buy some) and he asked me what CPU i had and what RAM i had now. i told him i had a P4 ht and one stick of 512mb. he said that was weird that i only have one because to take advantage of the ht you need dual channel RAM.

Is it true that you need dual channel RAM to take advantage of the hyper threading?

Well, you don't really need dual channel to run HT but running dual channel will probably gain better performanec.

yea i dont think its the actual dual-channel feature that works with ht to make it faster... its just the fact that the RAM is faster so it allows for more of th CPU's power to show through.
