Default RAM issue

I wanted to change my ram, cause I think my PC is BOSDing cause of whats in there now...the timings are 4-4-4-12 and the RAM I wanted to put in there was 5-5-5-15...something like that, anyhoo when I put in the slower RAM the computer will not start at all..is there any ways to fix this? or go into the BIOS and slow the 4-4-4-12 down and then put the other stuff in?

Also one stick of the slower ram will work but 2 will not...just an extra piece of info that might help
