My current set up is the HP p6654y. Great OEM box set up for what I needed at the time. TIME TO UPGRADE. Here is what I have in mind on a semi budget:

2: 2 TB seagate 7200 HDD

1: Cooler Master HAF 912 case

1: Gigabyte GeForce GT 630 2gb PCI 2.0

1: Raidmax 530W PSU

!: Corsair *gb (2 x 4gb) pc3 10666 ... this is where my issue starts...

The current DDR3 is 2 x 2gb pc3 10600. I want to add on the *gb of pc3 10666. Will I see an issue with these cards working together? Should the 8gb be in the "A" channels and move the original 4Gb to the "B" channels? Will the 10666 and the 10600 have issues with each other?

The MB is the N-Alvorix-Rs880-uATX. (I don't quite have the money for the MB I want to eventually upgrade to yet.) I have to purchase the video card because my new TV (Samsung 46" 6300 series no longer has a 3.5mm audio input and my current on board video only carries DVI and VGA. Because of the video card I need the bigger PSU (which is fine because I am adding on two HDD and a SSD in the future. I use the tower as my HTPC and plan on creating a large library. COMMENTS/ SOLUTIONS VERY WELCOME. THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Catch me if i'm wrong, but there is no such thing as 10666 ram? YOU maybe mean 1666mhz? In any case, I had the same question as you, and I just went for it, nope, no problems, everything works like a charm.

Ya there are two different ram set sold as 10600 and 10666 its frustrating.

I appreciate the link. Manipulation of numbers I guess. Thanks for the heads up again. 10666 is 10600 thats marketed under its peak transfer rate lol.
