RAM fault, We think...

Okay so a while ago I made a thread called "Blue screen problems" now we are pretty sure my RAM has gone, we have booted into safe mode to try and re install windows, but it does not work as it says in "System" that I have 16GB's of RAM but only 256MB's are usable, does The safe mode on windows restrict your RAM or is my RAM bust?

But have you tested the RAM with memtest?

Well I am 99% certain that Windows 7 doesn't restrict RAM in safe mode because I had to go into safe mode a couple of weeks ago and all of mine was there and whilst I didn't notice how much was usable it was GBs.

As for other Windows releases I can't say. Though if they do I wouldn't have thought it would have been that low.
