Exclamation RAM which is better ?

I will be purchasing a new system for playing Battle Field 2 within the next 2 days.

I am going for a higher end system and need to know what is going to get me better performance in regards to RAM.

I will be running:
Pentium D 3.2
GF 7800
x2 36Gb 10,000 Raid 0

My current Quote has:
GeIL 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDRII-667 PC5300 Dual

Now obviously I would prefer ( 2 x 1024MB PC5300 ) but as yet they can't get it from their supplier.

** SO MY QUESTION IS **

Should I go for more of the slower memory, or less of the faster ?
( 2G DDRII PC4200 Dual ) or ( 1G DDRII PC5300 Dual)

Any opinions ?
Links to comparisions ?

Thanks..

hey thanks for the welcome and the reply...

Yeah I am thinking that the 2G might be the way to go.

If a game and XP does use up the 1G of faster memory it will have to use the swap file, and even with the 10,000rpm raid it's speed will never compete with RAM and so really be a speed killer.

While I might lose a little bit of performance with the slower memory I wont have to ever worry about it needing to use the swap file.

Well for those that are wondering I managed to find a system test on battle field 2.

Changing the RAM from 1G to 2G made no difference at all to fps.

So I think I am therefore better off with the fastest RAM as more isn't going to help the performance at all, but the faster one should.

I am wondering if they actually are the right socket for your mobo well if they are i would personally go for the gig but if you can get 2 gig it would be more future proof, (if its 64bit).

Thats just my 2 cents

64-Bit would only go for the proccessor..

But, I think he meant like PC2700 or PC3200 or PC4000 as your motherboard has to support the type you pick.

Get the fastest RAM and put them in dual channel mode. What's the fastest speed your motherboard can support in regards to memory? From what you post it looks like DDR2 667 is the max? Not sure, but if so perhaps something like this:

CORSAIR VALUESELECT 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 667 (PC2 5300)
