Default RAID question and others...

Do I need a raid controller if my motherboard supports RAID? I know this is a noob question but that's what I am. Also what is gigabit ethernet and gigabit lan? Thanks for answering all my questions guys, I know I've been asking a lot, so thank you for being patient.

nope. mobo has a builtin raid controller so you dont need to buy one.

"Also what is gigabit ethernet and gigabit lan? " those are the same thing.

its just a normal home networking, except 10x faster then the average lan (i know..not practice).

Ok thanks for clearing that up for me! So if I want to share a internet connection anothe computer down the hall, having gigabit ethernet/lan will make this much faster? Thanks!

Not realy, it wont make the internet faster. it will just make transfers between your network faster.

ahh, i misread that sentence, i thought i knew what he was going to say and only read half of it but then he says something mildly illogical and unexpected :\.

indeed, your net wont go any faster (how could it possibly?).
