RAID 50 Hard-drive selection

Hey all,

I'm setting up a 16 drive RAID 50 (in the Norco 4220 case) and am looking for some hard-drives. I've found the 2 following drives, both on sale for $75 each, so the price is right.

Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB SATA 6GB/S 3.5IN 12MS 5900RPM 64MB
Hitachi Deskstar 5K3000 2TB SATA3 32MB

What concerns me with the Seagate is the 'Green' label. I know this spelled out death for the WDs since the number of parks rated would be met quite quickly. Is this similar to what I should expect with them? The only thing enticing me to them is the 64MB cache. Would this even have an effect when running them in such a large array with RAID 50? Also, maybe it is useful to keep in mind that my RAID card can only handle up to 3Gbps.

Just looking for some input. Thanks!

Do you live in canada? You could try newegg.com if you're in america, otherwise newegg.ca is the canadian version with slightly higher prices.

Yeah, I live in Canada, but the prices on Newegg were higher than the sale prices of these drives.
