Default Radeon 4870 X2

..beats Nvidia's GTX 280?

Edit: Do you reckon one of these bad boys will be priced at around 300-350?

I also heard that clocks of 1Ghz on the core will be possible to achieve with the watercooling that comes with it standard! My guess is that won't cost that much money either.

Wow, going to priced approximately $499 (251) .. totally amazing. Burning Nvidia and at the best price .. why are the 4870s priced at around 230? Would have guessed they'd have been a little less.

Hell yes! Even the $300 HD 4870 beats the GTX 280 on numerous occasions. (Bioshock, Race driver: GRID, Assassin's Creed, COD4...) On average, it's 10% slower than the 280 for less than half the price.
The HD 4870 prices are inflated ATM, I would imagine they'd drop to around 175 very soon when GDDR5 production gets going and Samsung and Hynix start supplying.
