Hey guys,

So I currently have an EVGA gtx 580 hydro copper 2 and am looking at getting a 2nd for SLI for a cheap boost in performance. I've been looking for a while for another hydro copper on ebay and have had no luck. I've found a water cooled gtx 580 galaxy for cheap and am thinking of just buying that. They are both 1.5 GB versions so would there be any compatibly issues at all?

Thanks

None that I can think of but I recommend selling your 580 and getting a 970 or 980. SLI is not a good solution because of micro stuttering, driver issues, sli profiles from developers, etc. I never recommend SLI unless you want great frames in 4k and don't mind the aforementioned potential issues.

I've run SLI for years without any of the above issues.

As for compatibility you shouldn't have any issues with 2 580s.

I'm fairly certain a single 980 will outperform 2 580's. Hell a 970 might even be able to do that. Maxwell is a killer architecture. But an additional 580 will be cheaper. But no DX12 which sucks for the future. It's a tough choice!
