so right now, i have a Samsung 200GB Sata, and a Seagate Barracuda 120GB Sata, and i was wondering if i could set up raid0, which is the stripped one i think, i have onboard raid on my mobo. Please dont just post links, i just couldnt find any answer.
and what about if i created equal partition on both drives?
thanks in advance

It normally works best with identical drives which are of the same capacity, which means that the bigger drive will lose 80GB because the smaller drive is only 120GB.

and i cant partition both to like 40GB each, and have the rest as a back up partitions?
I.E 200GB-40GB=160GB free space, 120GB-40GB=80GB free space
and will it delete my files when i try to setup the RAID?

The thing is you need to set the RAID configuration up first before you can partition. So that means before you think about doing anything else your only going to have 240G of striped RAID 0 array.

RAID 0 is a striped array so you might loose data on the discs.

With the 240G of space you have you should be able to partition this 240G space however you like.
