Default Quick questions on hardware.

Ok so I just have a few questions about what hardware I should get for my computer. I am building a new computer next year and want to put a Intel Core 2 Extreme 3.0 in it as the processor. I do not know a lot about this processor so I would like to know what other hardware I should get to go with it. The motherboard is the main piece of hardware that I am interested in. Which motherboard goes best with this processor? If you have any other hardware recommendations with this processor let me know.

Thanks

What's your budget? We'll pick out good parts for you if you give us a budget.

Also, what are you using the computer for?

Computer will be used for gaming and since the processor alone cost basically $1,000. The most I would be willing to spend on this computer is probably $3,000-$4,000.

Wow, so your really looking for a high end system. Okay well i'll give it a shot.

Motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131219

Ram:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227195
It's very high quality ram, good latencies for what it is, and there 2gb sticks so if you ever felt the need to you could go 8gb later down the road.

Harddrive:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136011
10,000 RPM, great company and this specific product has a great reputation.

Power Supply:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341002
Maybe a little overkill, but you can be damm sure you'll have enough power to your system.

GFX Card:

Need i say more?

I left out the case, because if it's at least ATX and has good air flow, its really personal choice. And I don't want to impose my taste on you.

There are only 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who can read binary, and those who can't.

I might actually suggest getting the Q6600 instead. You can easily overclock it to 3 GHz if you want, and you'll save $800.

I'd actually recommend this motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128068

And definitely get DDR3 RAM, something like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145182

Get a higher quality power supply:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817256006
That'll power almost anything you throw at it.
