IF I have a dvd in my cd drive and want to open it in windows move maker how do I do it. I tryed going to import video and then went to the cd but nuthing came up. However when I have a downloaded movie it works fine.

It doesn't work because your CD drive is a CD drive, not a DVD drive...it can't read a DVD.

A DVD drive can be had at Walmart for around $40...if you want to burn DVD's the drive will be about twice as much though

Transfer what you've got from your CD or DVD onto your desktop and go from there

Oh, just read more.. You can't put a DVD in a CD drive, it's like putting a basketball in your mailbox

, eh dont worry about it man its a little mistake every one makes mistakes nothing to worry about :)

Is there some setting in Movie Maker that will allow any cd you put in there to automatticly be opened by movie maker?

Is it a retail DVD? I don't think Windows Movie Maker supports VOB files and such.

When you downloaded the movie it was probably an .avi file which Movie Maker supports.
