Default Re: quick question

Im telling you ... you only need one piece of equipment - a wireless router (they have 4 port built in to connect your desktop via hardwire). No need for all the extra ethernet cables and switch.

Just be sure to go with an 802.11g router. Linksys, Netgear and D-Link get the most attention in this forum. Personally I use a brand called Buffalo. Doesn't matter what brand of wireless card adapter you have in your laptop ... if it's 802.11b/g it will work with any wireless router regardless.
Setting it up is easy. Google on "How to set up a wireless home network" and you'll find lots of stuff to read on it. And as I said before, check out the Networking/DNS forum in here and read some. We'll help you along the way.

Here's a link for wireless routers: http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/Ca...sp?Category=41
Most are $50 or less ... its not that expensive as others say it is.

Here's one for $20: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833127143
