Question Question on RAM

Currently i have two 256mb sticks of ram in my computer and i want to upgrade it. It can have up to 4gigs of ram and it has four RAM slots. Im wondering if i bought 4 1gig sticks of ram, will i be able to take out the two 256s that are currently i there and put the 1gigs in its place? Or do i have to keep that in there and i can only use the other 2 open slots?

You can take them out. Just make sure you buy compatible RAM. Not all RAM is compatible with every motherboard.
