Hello Lads,

I haven't turned my PC off in about 3 weeks, is this going to do damage to any of the components? (Other than the wear and tear on the HD). Provided it runs at a stable temperature I'm guessing I could leave it on indefinatley?

This fits better in the general Hardware and software section, moved.

As to the question, no it shouldn't do any damage. The only life that this is shortening is your fan life, and those are cheap enough that it's not that big of a deal.

So basically, if the temps are good, and you shut it down when needed (like during thunderstorms in-case power goes out) you should be OK.

Cool, thanks for that, the only real damage done I suppose is to the environment! Interesting to note I have an Inverter running 24/7 in case of power failure, and it uses PC fans. The company I bought it off said the Fans will last for ever and if the Inverter fails due to the fans breaking I would get a refund.
