Question on DVD Rom

Just wondering what brand is good for playing burnt and non-burnt CDs
and also is good for playing games with

asus and LG seem to have the highest reviews generally, and pretty good DVD drives too and not overly expensive... Lite-On and Sony are some other good ones

also, generally speaking, DVD drives tend to have very similar, if not the same, specifications when it comes to reading and writing, and things like the RPM, cache size and double-layer capabilities are very similar, really it comes down to the manufacturer and who has the better reputation...and of course the price

Lite-ON has the best price I've seen so far, but I prefer LG because every single build I've done, an LG DVD burner was in them and I've never had any issues with them to this very day.

look at them based on reviews, specs, and price. you want a fast drive (as in read/write speeds) with good reviews that is cheap. and check the media types it supports. the more the merrier.
