Cool Question about a laptop...

Hi, I just recently picked up a Dell 700m laptop from a friend of mine, and it is fairly decent. I just bought 2 gigs of ram for it from the 512mb that it has...

But my question is, the processor in it is an old PM 1.6ghz 400mhz fsb and I was wondering if a core solo would be compatible with the laptop. I mean I am not totally sure about the chipset compatibiltiy, but i know the socket hasn't changed, and I know that the core duo requires a 945gm chipset.

Just asking for comments on this matter, thanx!

I wouldn't try to switch the CPU of a notebook. You could if it's compatible, but there's a whole slew of other problems you could encounter. Heating for one.
