Default Question About Hardware Value.

Hello All,
I am new to this forum but I wanted to sign up because I had a question I was hoping fellow enthusiasts would be able to answer.

I recently built my dream PC but soon after realized it was probably more than I needed . I am now looking to re-sell and I was hoping to get an opinion on what others would value it at and if I built something worthy of attention?

here are my specs:

Case: Corsair Obsidian Series® 900D Super Tower Case

Powered by: Corsair : HX Series HX1050 Power Supply -- 1050 Watt 80 PLUS® Gold
Certified Modular PSU

Cooling: Cooled by a total of 9 fans! and Corsair :Hydro Series™ H110 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

CPU: Intel Core i7 Processor

Motherboard: Z87 Sabretooth Motherboard.

Video Card: Gigabyte- GE Force GTX 770.

Memory : 250 GB Samsung PRO Solid State Drive.

RAM: Corsair 2x8 GB sticks of RAM.

Operating System: Windows 8.

Blu Ray burner installed.

Thank You!

What version of the i7 is that do you know, Otherwise it looks to be solid gaming rig. I'd say about $900 up.

How much did you pay for it? When did you build it?

More than I'd like to admit lol!
I'd say total project was about $3000
$500 case
$300 motherboard
$350 processor
$350 video cards
$250 solid state
$150 cooling
$150 power supply
$100 for blu ray

Plus countless hours of frustration
I had to take it apart a few times because I got defective motherboard the first time

What version of the i7 do you have?

You might try installing a program called Speccy and posting a screenshot (or listing the parts) from that.

Whilst I'm not saying that the items in particular are never worth buying I would insist that there are only very very few people out there that see the value in a $500 case for example.
Most people would look at that build and only pay any real attention to:

$300 motherboard
$350 processor
$350 video cards
$250 solid state

A few will be concerned with the power supply but the other items:

$500 case
$100 for blu ray
$150 cooling

Is money that you invest in for your own piece of mind and generally money that you lose when you sell the equipment on.

I could see someone paying 2 grand for that rig maybe a bit more. Its well built with clean cable management and some good parts. It's also very lightly used. I recommend you put in some lighting strips. A 20 dollar investment towards aesthetics could get you a better price. Why not just keep it though? Its nice and will last you forever. So easy to upgrade and all that.
