question about driver installation

I was readin the manual on how to update drives cause i never done that and i came across this. "Note: After the driver installation, Windows may default to 16‐bpp color and disable
the Desktop Window Manager (DWM). To work around this issue, set the
color to 32‐bpp and then reboot the PC." and do i need to put the 32 bit after it's installed or before? I know it's a rather dumb question but i gotta be sure.

just set it to 32 before and if it changes set it back to 32...shouldnt be a big deal
