Default question about chkdsk

My C drive is corrupt, I can see this from the normal chkdsk, the problem is, I cannot run chkdsk /f, as it says the volume is in use by another program. Also, when I boot up, the auto chkdsk always skips whether I press a button or not. I uninstalled spyware doctor as i heard it was a cause of this, but had no luck.

Default Re: question about chkdsk

You should be running chkdsk /r..

If nothing else, run chkdsk /r from the repair console on a Windows XP disk.
