i have figured out that building my own saves me money

so would this graphics card ork with this motherboard

There's a few PCI expansion cards that use the PCI express X1 slot as it's a lot faster than the old PCI slots.

Stuff like this sound card for example.

If you are talking about the small PCIe x1 slot, no, it will not. It only fits in full size PCIe x16 slots.
