Yeah could be used for anything with a PCI interface

Yes, the wwhite slots are PCI expansion slots, which allows you to add anything you'd like, expanding a PC's capability. And reffering to your motherboard issue, it will not work. The Chipset on it is too old for Quad Cores.

well then that doesnt help me i like the striker extreme but i dont like the price tag. i also dont know much about how it holds up.

Nvidia chipsets are nice especially the 680i but the intel X38 is better in every way, except in SLI compatability, the mobo owns everything: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131219PCI-E 2.0 but supports Crossfire and not SLI.
