Default Quad Core (1/4 core overheating)

Hello, I recently bought a quad core CPU, and seemed for work fine, but I think it is possible one of my cores is problematic. When I run a video game, 1 core is overheating abnormally higher compared to the others, and when I run a stress test, for some reason the program does not test that core.

Is this a custom PC you build?

Because it could be that you have not applied the thermalpaste properly or the heatsink fan may not be mounted correctly

It could just be a bad sensor. Unless your computer is shutting down, you should be okay. Just in case, reapply thermal paste like stated above.
