does anyone know what format a video needs to be changed to play on a psp

Isant it MP4, and AVC? MP4 would be your best bet though.

it's MP4 for sure. If you need a nice convertor; try pspvideo9 (google that ) .... have fun

Didn't the PSP come with software to do all this? Im sure that Sony bragged about it somewhere along the lines.

Sony has there own software, but you have to buy it, probably 15$ ish... which is in my opinion not worth it.
