Default PS3 Question, advice appreciated!

If i connect my PS3 to the audio video outputs on my HDTV will the ps3 still be in HD quality , or does it have to go into the HDMI slots? I know it's a noobie question but im curious. Thanks

Regular composite (yellow connector) or s-video, no.

The component (red, green, blue connectors) will do hd resolution, but is still sending an analog signal to the tv.

HDMI is the only way to get a digital signal.
