Default PS2 Specs and performance

Hi, http://www.webnweb.com/vgame/html/ps2_specs.html is the PS2 specs and their similar all over the web. I know the PS2 is getting old, but 32mb memory, how was that enough. I realize the PS2 doesn't need to have that much as it doesn't have to hold data like windows, and I presume the kernal isn't like the windows one (how the threads que up in prioty... somthing like that isn't it). As for the clock frequency, im aware of the megaherzt myth but 300mhz seems once again a bit small. Can someone explain how the PS2 ran games of it's time well? Cheerz
