Default Ps/2 mouse problems

Plss help whenever i plug any ps/2 mouse it works for 1-2 hrs nd after that it stops working.I have bought 3 ps/2 mouse nd all suffered the same fate while my ps/2 keyboard works all right.What could be the problem?

Have you done a virus scan? And What OS Are you using?

It could just be a bad port.

Friend the ps/2 port remains permanently fixed to the motherboard.How can it be replaced?

Yes i know that

Do you have USB? If you do,try out a USB Keyboard and mouse and see if it has the same problem.

If you dont have USB You may want to buy a USB Controller Card.

Well if you have a plug on the back of your PC Which looks like this:



Then all you need to buy is a USB Keyboard and mouse which you can get online or a local computer store then you simply plug them in!


If you dont have any of those plugs,you should get a USB Controller card.

A USB Controller Card looks like this,



Now you can buy these off the internet or from a Local Computer store.Now you should open your computers case and check if you have any PCI Slots empty,they look like this:



Once you purchase one,you simply install the card as shown in the manual,and then install the correct software,and then you can use a USB Keyboard and mouse Because if your PS/2 Port is bad,there is no real way of fixing it.

Yes you can buy a small converter that converts the Ps2 Plug on the mouse,to a USB Port.You can buy these at a Computer store or Online.
