Default Program to record music into seperate files

I'm trying to record satellite music into my PC so I can listen to it at work, but every time I leave my PC on over night to record it crashes. If I leave it for 4 hours or so, it's fine. Does anyone know of a program that can record music (from Line-In) in sets of, for example 4-hour intervals BUT also starts recording another 4 hours immediately after the first set is done?

Well, what program are you using at the moment to record your programs? I know of a couple one is Audacity. This is a free program that I am using to convert LP's to MP3. But, it can also record from other sources like radio. You can also check out NCH.com. They have a lot of good programs too.

Cheers!

I'm currently using Cool Edit Pro. Does the job, but doesn't do what I would like it to.

Ok, so what do you need a program to do. That may help us more.

I think my first post pretty much explains that. Not sure how else to explain it?
