Processor Speed Problem

I just reinstalled windows XP on my computer, which is running an AMD Athalon XP 2100 at 1.7 ghz. On my old instalation, windows recognized it asAthalon XP 2100 at 1.7 ghz. Now on my new one windows says its only an athalon 1500 runnig at 1.3 ghz. I can notice the difference in speed. What can i do to fix this?

I have an asus A7N8X Deluxe, and the motherboard itself recognized the processor correctly. It's just windows that wont.

mine does this but mine is a xp3200 and it reconizes it as a 2500.
check in your bios cause if your not running it a full speed it might reconise it a a lower chip.
