i bought a new computer in november, its a philips mt2700 with a pentium d 945 3.4 ghz everyday at some point the computer freezes and its driving me mad. ive looked in the event log and nothing has been logged. so im startgt think that it is a processor problem. ive noticed that when i boot the fan does not start straight away, it kicks in after a few minutes, is this normal? as i think this is an overheating problem ive been trying to get my hands on some temperature monitoring software. anbody know any good free ones?

any help woulsd be great
thanks

It might just do that when the cpu starts to heat up. Have you checked for dust? Also do spyware scans with some spyware and virus software like Ad-Aware and Avast, both of which are free. As for temperature monitoring software, google coretemp and speedfan. Also everything I listed is free.
