Default is this processer good enough

since buying my intel quad core 2.66 ghz with 4mb cashe ive had second thoughts about it. will it play the good games and work with video and just all around do everything i ask or should i have spent the extra $90 for the better processer (i payed $200 with fan)

Your processor should do just fine with everything. Obviously if you went with the I7 you would have got more performance but then your not just looking at the 90 extra for the processor but also the extra money on the Motherboard, the extra money for DDR3 ram and so on.

What are your full system specs and we can let ya know better what type of performance gains your would have really got. And also what games you are talking about and what type of editing your are doing.

i want to play call of duty and whatever other games come my way mostly. video editing is not prime but i do some here and there

is it worth sending back to get the 3.0 ghz or 2.8 ghz

Which Intel quad core CPU did you order? There are a few different versions @ 2.66GHz.

A little more info on your system would be nice.

On high easily.

If i get a better graphics card, i can max COD on a Pentium D on 3.2 GHZ
