problems with printer

when i start up my computer, a message always tells me to align my new ink cartridges when i didnt even buy new ones yet. when i do align, it still asks me and is getting alittle annoying. i have a HP deskjet 5440.

Try reinstalling the printers drivers.

ive tried it several times now, but the message still comes up.

it goes away, but then comes up on next startup anyways

Take out all the cartridges ten reseat them, run the head cleaner and alignment tool and see what happens.

My HP printer (software, more specifically) does a lot of random things including first when I installed it, I got random prompts that it was "continuing" the installation and they lasted for about 3 minutes and happened out of nowhere. I've also gotten similar notices but none lately. The only advice I have is to call HP and ask them.

Since it's HP... well... good luck with that.

why dont u go into msconfig and try and stop it from running on startup, that should shut it up for a bit
