Default Problems with installing downloaded files

Hi.
About 3 of 4 files I download, are corrupt when I try to install them in my system.
This is a brand new PC that I've built myself, and I have been very careful when putting it together.

I have ran extensive ram tests on the computer, for several hours, with no errors showing, so I don't think it's the memory that's doing this.
I have had this kind of problem before, and what I did then was replace my hdd, and it was solved. The thing is, the hdd that I have now is only about five months old, so I don't think it is the one making all the trouble.

Lastly, one could suspect the network card, right? Problem is, it is integrated into my mobo, so I would have to send the whole board over to RMA, something I would not love to do.

Anyway, what do you guys advice that I should do? Could it be the CPU?

Also, sometimes the warning messages says that, in addition to that the files are corrupted, an I/O-error has occurred. What could that mean?
