problem redetecting slave drive??

hello there i am having a problem redetecting a slave drive which i had to disconnect to try out a separate slave drive (which wasnt working so it wasnt detected)... so then i reconnected the original slave with everything back in place liek it was the 1st time, the cable is fine, jumpers are fine since i never touched em, BIOS is detecting the drive... but then i go into windows and the drive is not being detected.... now im basically stuck without my slave drive which has most of my important files on it so can anyone give any suggestions as to what might be wrong and how to fix it?? thanks in advance

have you tired to detect in manually? go into control panel>add new hardware.

Try with a different power connector (the four pin connector from the psu to the drive)...

If the BIOS is reading it, wouldn't it have power?

i would think so dishdog. But has he tried adding it manually? He might not ha ve the plug and play setting detected automatically...if that's what it's called i'm not for sure if it is.
