Default Problem installing software

Hi all,

I'm currently trying to install software onto my computer just now, but it keeps showing an error message, it says:

"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXE.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications"

Someone told me that i have to go through a process of disabling the autorun option using the Command Centre of my computer.

If anyone has any information that could help me install this I would be very grateful.

Thank you
