Hi there, I hope someone can help.

I am tying to install a new hard drive into my sisters HP Brio BA600.

I have physically replaced the old (damaged) 4GB HD with the new 20GB & set the cable select to Primary Master. I then powered up and am greeted by the CMOS Setup Utility screen.

This is what is shown:

BIOS Version HW.27.08 (QHW.08.03)

Drive A - None
Drive B - None
Floppy 3 Mode Support - Disabled
>IDE Primary Master - ST340810A
>IDE Primary Slave - None
>IDE Secondary Master - GENERIC CRD-BP1300P
>IDE Secondary Slave - FX4820T

CPU Type - Pentium III
CPU Speed 600MHz
Cache RAM - 256K
Base Memory - 640K
Extended Memory - 64512K

Phew! Basically what do I do next? I want to install Windows XP onto the new hard drive, I have the installation CD but when I insert it into the CD drive nothing happens.

Kind Regards,

Stephen & Lyndsay

go into the bios and set it to first boot cd second boot IDE 0. When it boots you will be asked if you want to boot from a cd. you have 5 seconds to hit enter.
