Default Problem with Firefox

Lately I've been having a problem when trying to use Firefox.
When I open it, it shows that it is trying to find my homepage ( which it neved does) and if I try to open one of my favorites it says that it cannot open the page because I,m off line. IE works fine.
I've tried completely removing Firefox and re-installing it but have the same problem.
Any ideas?
thanks

IE does still have a lot of problems, but at least with the pop up blockers and spyware removal and detection such as Microsoft Spyware tool, it eases my mind a little more about using it. But for me it doesn't matter because both (IE and Firefox) have problems and if you know a little bit about what you are doing you can avoid a lot of issues associated with IE.
