Default problem with avg

when i turned my computer on today the avg icon at the bottom was grey so i clicked on it, the avg resident shield & internal virus database icons were both red and not loaded.
It is version 7 and is up to date with the latest definitions so I dont know why its like that.

does anyone know how to get it back to normal?

There are only 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who can read binary, and those who can't.

Close AVG, then re-open it. If that don't work, reboot your PC. If that fails, then uninstall it, then reinstall it. Make sure to update it.
