How long before prices drop on various parts again, making computer models of today cheaper by any margin? Does this occur only when new stuff is released, or just after a certain amount of time?

Also, what companies are the best ones to look at when purchasing: RAM, sound cards, video cards, HDDs, PSUs, and cases? I figure the more reputable ones will be best.

ram - corsair, kingston, crucial, mushkin, rosewill
sound cards - creative
video cards - nvidia, ati
hdds- maxtor, seagate, western digital
psus - antec, thermaltake, ultra, allied
cases- antec, thermaltake, apex, enlight

usually price drops when upgrades come out. when a video card debuts for example a new one will usually come out 4-6 months later.. by then the inital price has dropped a bit. pretty much goes for all parts.

My opinion:
ram - all that MeTzenAs said exept rosewill, and then geil, ocz.
sound cards - creative is good
video cards - xfx and evga are great
hdds - what MeTzenAs said + hitachi
psus - antec, thermaltake
case - antec, thermaltake and then that name that I can't remember. :D
I think it starts with L. But the manufacturer isn't that important in cases.

And the price of hardware usually drops when companies release some new & better stuff.
