Powerbook G4 LCD/Dock Problem

Okay, so my dad gave me his old Powerbook G4 since he got a new MacBook Pro, but the thing is the LCD is broken. However, when I plug in an external monitor into the VGA port in the back, the desktop extends over to it, like I can see the mouse on the screen. The only problem is the dock and applications menu are stuck on the half with the LCD screen and I have no idea how to move them to the other display. Is there some kind of keystroke or trick that I can do to move it?
