Angry Power Surge-What is Fried?

Hey all. I recently recieved a computer to fix from some friends. It was hit by a power surge, and now I get a beep code, no video. It is AMI BIOS, with three beeps, so can I be sure that the motherboard is toast? I have swapped memory, vid cards, power supplies, and just disconnected everything.....any other troubleshooting I can do? Is it possibly the processor?
Thanks,
Spencer

It is possibly the mother board.. because you went through every other possible problem and changed the variables. I'm not sure if it is the processor or mobo.

Default Define power surge...

If you mean lighting, I would flip the whole mess in the bin and write it off. None of it could be trusted.

However if you want to pusue this, this link will take to a site that translates the beep codes.

Yeah I think it could be the motherboard too... the motherboard might have surge protection on it which would stop power to any other devices before they fried. I hope so.
Shame about the pc though
