Default power supply for x800

i have a dell 8300. I want to get a x800 video card. With my little 250W ps ( i think thats what it has ) be ok or not work?? Thanks for an help.- scott

will the dell even take the card? Would it be worth it? But no 250w for a card like thats bad. atleast 350! But id even like 420 is minium

ok i have a dell 8300, 3.0, 1 gig 3200 ram, 9800 pro card.Its about 7 months old. I want to get a x800 at least, and iv read before that i only have a 250W ps. What do i need to do this?

You need a 300W bare min. 400W recommended.

Yeah; I'd say 400W was a bare minimum - but I'm a little crazy so...

Eitherway its not going to work with 250W.

YOU GUYS ARE ALL WRONG. well not literally. but i just wanted to say that.

no but all kidding aside, the dell ps is not 250. They rate their powersupplies conservatively and in actuality ur ps is closer to 350 than it is to 250.

I'm not sure whether it's enough power because u have all those other components, especially ur 3.0 cpu.

But don't think of the ps as 250, think of it as 350.
