Default power supply questions

if i am getting an amd 64 3500+, will a 300 watt power supply be too much or just right?

It also depend on what other hardware you are planning to use. I would say 300Watts is really pushing it. You would be more comfortable with a 400Watt power supply or 350Watts at a minimum.

Yes, it should. Power supplies generally have the same form factor.

i was worried for a minute there. i bought a 300 watt power supply case for an intel system but switched to amd just now. i thought i would have to buy a new case. thanks

350 is the standard now for the basic setup. once you start to add more stuff like a graphic card, second HDD, sound card and things like that you need a PSU with more watts.

<edit> i don't like that site. it says i only need 339Watts but i had a 350 and it wasn't enough.
