Power Supply Is Not Functioning

2 weeks ago, we had a power outage that lasted 2 seconds. That damaged the power supply, or so we think.

So, right now, we replaced the computer's old power supply with a new one. The computer does not turn on (switch in back was "-", not "O"; power strip was on). We installed the power supply and we are certain that we have hooked the connectors into the right sockets, double checking that the large connector was connected to the main board.

If for some reason that this was the problem, we also checked that the two switches in the front were connected to the mainboard properly and they are.

We are not sure what to do here. We are thinking that there was a circuit conflict involved during the short power outage--could that happen by any chance? Also, if anybody could identify which connector goes where, or provide a list of which components are connected from the power supply's connectors, that would be great, just to be sure.

Thanks for any help.

Its probably your motherboard. It probably got fried and you will most likely have to by a new one. Remember that a good UPS will save your computer from this kind of damage.

yep listen to all of them.... ur mobo did get fried, you should get a surge protector..
