Default Power supply good enough.

I am interested in getting this power supply from newegg.com for my HP a6460t. The reason is I am getting a new video card (8600gt) and I was wondering if everything would be compatible, and if the power supply had enough connections.

EDIT: those cards that SSC456 picked out are really good.. the HD 3850 is alot better than the 8600GT

Is that a good power supply, I mean is a good brand and does it have all the connections i would need for that computer. Also I read a couple of reviews for that and it said it was a big power supply, would it fit in the Hp

i think the 8800 might need more on 450 with a decent brand name.

im not sure if your aware of this but a 600 Watt cheap PSU will be equivalent to a 400 Watt named and trusted brand PSU.

again im not 100% sure on the wattage needs of those graphics cards so best to wait for the extreme gamers to post here

All but the HD 3850 will run on your selected power supply. For rhe same price, you can get the Antec Basiq BP500U 500W Power Supply for $59.99 ($29.99 after $30.00 Mail-In Rebate) which will power most any card you select.

How much are you looking to spend on a video card?

Yes, the HD 3850 will work since PCIe 2.0 cards are backwards compatible with PCIe 1.0 slots.

If you are willing to spend that much, for $149.99 ($129.99 after $20.00 Mail-In Rebate) the SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 3870 512MB would be your best bet performance wise in that price range. Otherwise the HD 3850 would be a very nice choice in a mid range card.
