Question Power!?!

I was just wondering what is the most powerful computer you can get on the market today or the most powerful you can build.(please only things that anyone can build, not only a computer expert.)
And, also, if possible, how expensive would one be?
your friendly investigative curious person.

www.custompc.com just did an artictle on 'Dream Pc's', I think the dearest was around 5000 sterling. They all look good but I dont think they'll perform that much better than mine. Built at the fraction of that cost.
