Potential problems with hooking up PC to HDTV

Hi all,

I am looking to hookup my PC to my samsung HDTV (DLP).

I currently have a nvidia geforce 6600GT. I am going to pickup a dvi-hdmi cord.

Are there any potential problems with doing it this way? I know my video card is not HDCP compliant though I cant figure out what will happen if do the hookup anyway.

There is no concerns as far as damaging my tv (or less importantly my video card)?

I only ask this as I heard damage is possible without a HDCO compliant ved card.

I thought that HDCP was only for HD video. It shouldn't be any different connected to the TV, as it is the video card that doesn't support it.

I've never heard of damaging a video card if it can't produce output. Wait till other members chime in.

Here's some info on it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDCP It's just for displaying HD video. You won't experience any damage. I've hooked up computers that were manufactured far before HDCP.
