I tried to play a DVD on Windows Media Player 9 and it says I can't because of something like I have no compatible DVD decoder. Should I get the decoder? If so, how? Or should I just get a different program to play DVDs?

Hey,

Why don't you upgrade to either WMP10 or 11?? they come standard with the decoders/codecs needed to play DVD's...

Matt

I can't upgrade to 10 or 11 because i have no internet on my comp. I'll just download vlc media player.

Sorry to pick your words, but if you don't have internet, how can you download VLC player, lol? I have the Divx codec with my media player. It's free and it allows me to play all my downloaded movies. Don't know if that will work or not since you have an actual DVD, but it's worth a try. But Media Player 10 or 11 should have all the codecs you need to play DVDs though.

I downloaded VLC Media Player on this computer and transfered it via Flash Drive. It works fine and I can play DVDs.

i will let the other one be, since we don't need two of the same threads going.
