Default physical memory dump

the screen turns to blue and its message is:

"beginning dump of physical memory to disk."*

i have to restart the pc. what usually causes this to happen? is this hardware or software related??

im using win2k.

I would recommending running: chkdsk /f

It may resolve those issues but I'm not particularly sure. If you continue to get them, check all the connections inside your computer. Make sure the ram is in securely, or even change the slot.

It could either be hardware or software related. I'm just giving some advice on what it possibly could be. Sorry I couldn't of been of anymore help.
